ASTM A192 Boiler Tube
Size Range
O.D: 1/4″–24″; W.T: SCH10–SCH160
• Chemical Composition

Mechanical Tests Required
- Flattening Test — One flattening test shall be performed on specimens taken from each end of two tubes selected from each batch.
- Flaring Test — One flaring test shall be performed on specimens taken from each end of two tubes selected from each batch. These tubes shall be selected separately from those used for the flattening test.
- Hardness Test — Brinell or Rockwell hardness tests shall be carried out on specimens from two tubes per batch. The term batch applies to all tubes prior to cutting, of the same nominal diameter and wall thickness, produced from the same heat of steel. Where final heat treatment is performed in a batch-type furnace, a batch shall include only tubes of the same size and same heat that are heat-treated in the same furnace charge. Where final heat treatment is in a continuous furnace, a batch shall consist of all tubes of the same size and heat treated under identical temperature, heating time and furnace speed within the same furnace.
- Hydrostatic Test — Each tube shall be subjected to hydrostatic test, or non-destructive testing may replace this test when specified by the purchaser.
