A For each 0.01% reduction below the specified maximum carbon content, manganese may be increased by 0.06% above its specified maximum, up to a maximum total manganese of 1.35%.

Mechanical Tests Required
• Tensile Test: One tensile test specimen shall be taken for batches of no more than 50 tubes. For batches exceeding 50 tubes, specimens from two tubes shall be tested.

• Flattening Test: One flattening test shall be performed on specimens from each end of every finished tube per batch, excluding specimens used for tensile test. For Grade C tubing with OD ≤2.375 in [60.3 mm], tears or fractures at the 12 o’clock or 6 o’clock position shall not constitute grounds for rejection.

• Flaring Test: One flaring test shall be carried out on specimens from each end of one finished tube per batch, not taken from specimens used for flattening test.

• Hardness Test: Brinell or Rockwell hardness tests shall be conducted on specimens taken from two tubes per batch.
